Asbury Park, NJ – October 10, 2024 – Telegraph Hill Records proudly announces the release of Sleepless Nights, the debut album by Jarod Clemons, son of legendary saxophonist Clarence Clemons of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band. While Clarence Clemons is known to millions worldwide, many may not realize that Jarod has been carving his own path in a modern music world so unlike his father’s, overcoming personal struggles and finding his voice. With Sleepless Nights, Jarod invites listeners into his most intimate thoughts and emotions, reflecting on the weight of legacy and the challenges of self-discovery.

"After years of honing these songs and battling personal challenges, this album feels like the culmination of all the tears, the re-recordings, and the sleepless nights,” Jarod reflects. “It's a project that’s close to my heart, and I hope people can hear the story behind every note.”

The album’s genesis took place over a marathon recording session at Atlantic Studios in New York City, where Jarod and producer Joe Pomarico, of Telegraph Hill Records, worked nearly 50 hours straight to lay the foundation for 11 tracks, 9 of which made it onto the final album.

Jarod’s vocals were captured using a unique blend of two microphones—a Neumann U47 and a Sennheiser 414—to highlight the warmth and depth of his storytelling. The lyrics paint vivid pictures of his journey, balancing the weight of his father’s immense legacy while forging his own identity in a music scene that hasn’t always been kind. “One of the main parts of the session included my passion. Drumming! I did not move from behind the kit for roughly 5 hours. Not until I was satisfied.” adds Jarod.

The title track, Sleepless Nights, came to life in the early hours of the morning during the recording process. "I sat on the floor strumming the main riff, and before I knew it, the song had written itself,” Jarod recalls. “It was an emotional moment, and when Joe suggested we name the album after that experience, it just made sense.”

Recorded with previous collaborators with The Late Nights—Dan Hogan (keys), Alex Fuhring (guitar), and Tom Devine (bass)—Jarod’s raw emotions were channeled into a blend of rock and soul that is uniquely his own on this album. Adding a rich layer to the album’s sound was string arranger Victoria Romano, who contributed from California.

The release show happened at Asbury Lanes on October 10 with The Foes of Fern, Levy Okun and Great Oblivion performed before the show stopping end set by Clemons and his band that riveted everyone in the crowd with its raw emotion.  Sleepless Nights is available now on all major streaming platforms, both those familiar with the Asbury Park music and music lovers of any kind are sure to find some inspiration about personal growth in it.
